I know how easy it is for the holidays to stir up anxiety. For years, I felt the same way. When I was younger, I loved the holidays. But as I grew, I began to feel anxiety creep in as soon as October hit. I worried about making everyone happy (and rarely accomplishing it) and smoothing over tensions. To be honest, I just had a general pit in my stomach about the whole thing. However, once everything was underway, I did enjoy myself. The joy was still there, but I had to dig for it beneath all the stress.
